Siena Women’s Tennis to Face Florida in First Round of NCAA Tournament

EDISON, N.J. (May 3, 2021) – The 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Tennis Champion, Siena College, is officially headed for Gainesville, Florida to face the 11th-seeded Florida (12-7, 10-3 SEC) in the First Round of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships as announced on Monday on the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Selection Show. The match will take place on Friday, May 7.


The Saints (7-3, 3-2 MAAC) defeated Quinnipiac University, 4-1, in the 2021 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship Match to capture their first conference championship since 2006 and a clinch the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. Meagan Brown was named the MAAC Championship’s Most Outstanding Player after going undefeated in her singles and doubles position during the tournament.
 
Siena earned several All-MAAC honors, including three selections to the All-MAAC second teams for singles and two pairings named to the All-MAAC Second Team for doubles. Brown was named to the second team for both singles (#1 Position) and doubles (#1 Position), as did teammates Kylie Mullaney (#2 Singles / #1 Doubles) and Emma Boggiali (#5 Singles / #3 Doubles). Manya Viswanath also earned a nod to the doubles All-MAAC Second Team at the #3 position.

The Saints are currently on a five-game winning streak dating back to April 16th. They have gone 25-6 in all matches played during the stretch, including a 12-2 record on the doubles side.
