Iona Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Lauren Kahn To Work With Athletes Unlimited

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Head coach Lauren Kahn of Iona Women's Lacrosse accepted a position with Athlete's Unlimited for their professional lacrosse league. She will be a facilitator for one team every week.   

Athlete's Unlimited is a player-run professional league that started with softball (2020), volleyball (2021) and lacrosse (2021). There are four teams, 54 players, and each player can earn individual points each week. The four highest-scoring players become team captains the next week. Each week, teams are redrafted. The players are all graduated, many are current and former Team USA players, Tewaaraton Award winners and current college coaches.

The league is based out of D.C. The games start this Friday and they play Friday, Saturday, Sunday every weekend for the next five weeks. Games are shown on FS1, CBS Sports Network and Youtube. The drafts are live on FB and Youtube each week. Anyone who watches the draft can see Lauren involved in discussions with her captain!

"It is an exciting opportunity to continue to spread the game. As a facilitator I am in a position to work with the best players in the world and help to put the highest quality product on the field." Head coach Lauren Kahn said. 

"I am grateful to have been asked to be in this position. It is an honor to represent Iona College in this new innovative league run by Athlete's Unlimited. It is a great opportunity to showcase Women's lacrosse as it will be nationally televised. I look forward to the next couple of weeks of exciting lacrosse."

Kahn is the lacrosse facilitator for one team. Only one of four facilitators, she helps the captains draft each week, make game-time decisions and run practices and scrimmages. Just like the players, she will switch teams each week. Tonight is the first game for Kahn and her team, they play at 7:30 pm on CBS sports network. On Saturday team blue plays tomorrow at 3:00 pm on Youtube tv. Team blue's final game this week is on Sunday on FS1 with a scheduled start time of noon.
