Fairfield's Green Selected To NABC Honors Court

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Caleb Green was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for his performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 season. The honor is bestowed upon a student-athlete who is a junior or senior with a 3.2 or higher grade-point average who has matriculated at least one year at their current institution. Green previously was named to the CoSIDA All-District team and the D-I AAA Athletic Directors Scholar-Athlete Team earlier in the spring.

Green started all 27 games for the Stags and made an immediate impact on the program in his first year wearing a Fairfield uniform. The guard led the team with 76 assists which translated into  nearly three assists per game. He was also among the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's (MAAC) leaders in minutes played, averaging 33.8 minutes per outing this season which placed seventh in the conference. He was also one of the team's top three-point shooter, averaging just over one per game with 28 long-range baskets. He averaged 8.6 points per game, a number that was highlighted by his 10.3 scoring average during the 2021 MAAC Basketball Championship. He is majoring in Marketing at Fairfield University.

The  NABC was founded in 1927 and currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.
