Katrina Kurtz, Siena

Kurtz factored in the scoring for both goals, tallying three points in reigning MAAC Champion Siena Women's Soccer's season-opening 2-0 win over Binghamton Thursday. The junior midfielder scored the first goal of the season, netting the eventual game-winner in the 22
nd minute on a spectacular 40-yard rocket. She then provided the Saints with insurance in the 72
nd minute, serving in a long free kick into the box which was headed in to cement Siena's victory over a strong Bearcats squad which went 6-2 this spring while advancing to the America East Championship Match.

Brooke Boermeester, Siena

Boermeester pitched a shutout, making a career-high eight saves in reigning MAAC Champion Siena Women's Soccer's season-opening 2-0 triumph over Binghamton Thursday. Making just her third collegiate appearance, the red-shirt sophomore continued her career-opening shutout streak with her third straight clean sheet. Boermeester's performance was the difference in a match where Binghamton held decided advantages in both shots (16-10) and corners (8-2), as she propelled the Saints past a strong Bearcats squad which posted a 6-2 record this past spring, advancing to the America East Championship Match.
