Quinnipiac’s Phillips and Cooke, and Iona’s Lewis Earn Bob McCloskey Insurance MAAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Rebecca Cooke, Quinnipiac

Reigning Rookie of the Year and Preseason Player of the Year Rebecca Cooke had a stellar start to the 2021 season. In the Bobcats' opener, Cooke scored two goals in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over Lafayette. Later in the week, Cooke continued her strong play and tallied a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' dominant 4-0 win over Yale. She leads the team with 7 points on three goals and on assist through the first two games played.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Meaghan Phillips, Quinnipiac

Junior keeper Meaghan Phillips recorded two clean sheets through the Bobcats first two games of the season. She tallied two saves against Lafayette in the Bobcats' 3-0 win and five saves against Yale in the 4-0 win. The Bobcats' 4-0 win over Yale was the first win against the Bulldogs in program history and first team shutout recorded against any Ivy League team.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kedarjah Lewis, Iona
Fr., Higganum, CT, Haddam-Killingworth
 
Freshman Kedarjah Lewis scored twice in Iona's 4-3 comeback victory at VMI on Thursday. Lewis' first goal tied the match and her second proved to be the game-winner. The goals were the first two of the freshman's collegiate career.
