Niagara’s Roberts and Peroni and Marist’s Owens Named Molten MAAC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners

Player of the Week
Jaycie Roberts, Niagara

Jaycie Roberts recorded three straight double-doubles as the Purple Eagles went 2-1 at the Colonel Classic over the weekend. Versus Southern, Roberts recorded 17 kills and 20 digs. She also had three aces. Against Nicholls State, she had 14 kills and 10 digs. Versus Texas Southern, Roberts had 10 kills and 22 digs. On the weekend, she averaged 3.73 kills per set and 4.73 digs per set.
 
Libero of the Week
Morgan Owens, Marist
Sr., Ashburn, VA, Broad Run High School
 
Owens had a stellar opening weekend, perhaps the best of her career. She had double-digit digs in all three matches at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, AZ, including 31 in the best game of her career in a victory over UC San Diego. Owens' 31 digs were not only a career-high, but the total also ranked tied-for-eighth on the program's single match digs list. In the victory, she also added five assists and three service aces.
 
Rookie of the Week
Bella Peroni, Niagara
Fr., Chardon, OH

Peroni had a strong debut for the Purple Eagles. She recorded double-digit digs against Nicholls State (12) and Texas Southern (27). She averaged 5.25 digs per set.
