Riverdale, NY – Manhattan Director of Cross Country, Track and Field Kerri Gallagher has named Margaret Hayden as an Assistant Coach for the track & field teams for the upcoming season.

Hayden will primarily assist Assistant Coach Paddy McGrath with the throwers in event specific training, but will also assist with full program operations.

She was a five-year member of the East Tennessee State Women's Track and Field program, and holds the school record in the hammer throw (54.30 meters).

"I am very happy that Margaret will be joining the staff as a volunteer coach," said Gallagher. "She has big aspirations for her own competitive career and will be a great example for our team as she works with Coach McGrath towards those goals. Her experience as a student-athlete and leader on her college team will add a lot of value for our student-athletes."

Hayden graduated from East Tennessee State in 2019 with a degree in history, and in 2021 with her master's in European History.
