Roberts recorded back-to-back double-doubles as the Purple Eagles swept their first MAAC weekend. Against Marist, Roberts had 19 kills and 15 digs. Versus Siena, she had 13 kills and 15 digs and also added two aces. On the weekend, she averaged 4.57 kills per set and 4.29 digs per set.
Libero of the Week
Amanda Darling, Niagara
So., Oswego, IL, Oswego High School
Darling averaged 6.86 kills per set as the Purple Eagles went 2-0 over the weekend. Against Marist, she had 28 digs and added six assists. Against Siena, Darling had 20 digs and a service ace.
Rookie of the Week
Nerin Valasakos, Iona
Fr., Peoria, AZ, Glendale Preparatory Academy
Rookie outside hitter Nerin Valasakos was Iona's top performer in a three-set win over Manhattan in the team's only match of the week. Valasakos had a team-best 10 kills and 11.0 points in the win. He hit an incredible .527 from the outside with no errors in 19 attempts. Valasakos added an ace and two digs. It was her first collegiate double-digit kill effort and career-high point total. After averaging 1.6 points in the team’s first five matches, Valasakos has posted 9.5 points per match over the last three including two Gael victories.
