Niagara Women's Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Niagara women's basketball program has announced its non-league slate for the upcoming 2021-22 season, including four games at home and a trip to Big 10 rival Michigan State. 

Niagara will have a preseason tune-up against D'Youville on Nov. 5 before opening the non-conference portion of their schedule at home against former MAAC foe Loyola Maryland on Nov. 9. The meeting will mark the first since the Greyhounds left the conference following the 2012-13 season. Loyola leads the all-time series 13-8. However, Niagara has a 5-4 advantage at the Gallagher Center. 

The Purple and White will then travel to the Great Lake State for a two-game road swing that will start with Oakland on Nov. 12 in Rochester, Mich., before heading to East Lansing to take on the Spartans on Nov. 14.

The game between Niagara and Michigan State will be the second between the two programs and the first since 2008.

Niagara returns to the Gallagher Center on Nov. 17 to take on Colgate. The Purple Eagles are 7-2 against the Red Raiders, including a 4-0 mark at home.

Niagara will head to Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 20 to take on La Salle for the first time in program history. 

The Purple Eagles return to Western New York for back-to-back contests with Big 4 Rivals. The first, versus St. Bonaventure on Nov. 23 at the Gallagher Center, followed by a trip to Alumni Arena to take on Buffalo, Dec. 1.

Niagara will play its final non-conference home contest on Dec. 4 when they welcome the Big Red to Monteagle Ridge. The Purple Eagles will play Cornell for the 18th time in program history.

The Purple and White then round out the non-league schedule with a road game at Xavier on Dec. 8 at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
