Saint Peter’s’ Vital and Monmouth’s Hoffman Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

EDISON, NJ (January 12, 2022) – Saint Peter’s’ Abigail Vital and Monmouth’s James Hoffman have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

A four-year member of Monmouth’s cross country and track & field programs, Hoffman will look to continue delivering strong results academically and athletically during the upcoming spring semester. Following a successful outdoor track campaign last year, he earned two top-20 finishes at the MAAC XC Championships and the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships. The senior business major currently holds a team-best 3.96 cumulative GPA after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall.

Abigail Vital shined at the West Point Open for the Saint Peter's University Track & Field team. Vital captured a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.02, securing the victory over Saydee Aganus by 0.07 seconds. She also finished in eighth place in the 200m with a time of 26.39.
