EDISON, NJ (January 11, 2022) – The Siena College women’s basketball team picked up their first win of the season on Monday afternoon and head coach Jim Jabir’s first win at the helm for the Saints since March 10, 1990.

The Siena College women’s basketball team held Iona College scoreless for the final seven minutes and 15 seconds and scored 14 unanswered points to capture the 56-51 come-from-behind victory on Monday afternoon. Rayshel Brown tied her season-high with 19 points and set a new career-high with six steals. Margo Peterson added 12 points and Anja Knoflach put up 10 in the scoring column, while Selena Philoxy grabbed 10 rebounds for the Saints. Olivia Vezaldenos led the scoring for the Gaels with 14 points and Juana Camilion registered 10 points in the loss. The win for Siena marks their first win of the season and head coach Jim Jabir’s first win at the helm for the Saints since March 10, 1990. 
 
The 2021-22 campaign culminates with the 2022 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 8-12 at Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
