In a very tight, evenly played contest which produced 12 ties and nine lead changes, Iona used a late 11-2 run over the final three and a half minutes of the game, to defeat Marist 69-66 on Sunday afternoon in MAAC action at the Hynes Center in New Rochelle, NY. Iona improves to MAAC-leading marks of 11-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play, the team’s best overall start since 1995-96 and first 3-0 MAAC start since 2015-16. The Gaels had five players score in double figures led by Tyson Jolly’s 18 points, while Elijah Joiner, Nelly Junior Joseph, and Ryan Myers each scored 11 points, and Walter Clayton Jr. added 10 points. Jao Ituka finished with 13 points and Ricardo Wright notched 11 to lead the Red Foxes.
