Canisius’ Iacona and Rider’s Sciancalepore Claim Bob McCloskey Insurance MAAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Mia Iacona

Iacona scored 2 goals in a 1-0-1 week for Canisius. Her lone goal in the 30th minute against Marist, propelled Canisius to victory in their season home finale. Against Manhattan, Iacona’s goal at the 11:57 mark gave Canisius a 1-0 lead. With the score, Iacona, has now recorded goals in consecutive games. On the season the freshman currently has 2 goals and 2 assists.

Ellie Sciancalepore

Sciancalepore recorded 7 total saves in an undefeated week for Rider. In a 2-1 win versus Mount St. Mary’s, Sciancalepore, recorded two saves. Against Marist, Sciancalepore, recorded five saves in the shutout victory. The junior, Sciancalepore, now has six shutouts on the season and ten total for her career.

The 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 30 through November 6. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 3, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
