Morgan Romano, Rider

Morgan Romano averaged 4.50 kills per set during the week, while hitting .389. The senior added 10 digs, three aces, and seven blocks. Romano was at her best against Marist, producing 22 kills, two aces, six digs, and six blocks.
Libero of the Week
Hope Matschner, Iona
Jr., Winter Springs, FL, Winter Springs High School
Hope Matschner poured in 58 digs, averaging 7.25 digs per set leading to a weekend sweep. In the Gaels' win over Canisius, Matschner poured in a match-high 28 digs while adding three assists. The following day, in the come-from-behind win over Niagara, the junior chipped in a match-high 30 digs and four assists. Her 7.25 digs per set was nearly 2.5 more than the No. 2 Libero in the MAAC this week, and Matschner has now gone five-straight matches without a reception error, going more than 112 reception attempts since her last error. On the season, Matschner leads the NCAA in both digs with 391 and digs per set with 6.52. This marks Matschner's fourth honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Mackenzie Wiggins, Iona
R-Fr., Corpus Christi, TX, Flour Bluff High School
Mackenzie Wiggins led the offensive attack in Iona's two wins, pouring in 32 kills, averaging 4.0 kills per set while also contributing on the defensive side, adding 26 digs and 3.25 digs per set. In the Gaels' sweep over Canisius, Wiggins chipped in a match-high 13 kills to go along with nine digs and followed that performance up with a double-double, 19 kills and a career-high 17 digs in the Gaels come-from-behind victory over Niagara. Her 4.25 points per set led all MAAC performers among the four teams that went unbeaten this week.
The 2022 MAAC Volleyball Championship takes place from November 16 through 19 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The 10-team, single-elimination championship will feature four rounds of action with the opening round taking place on Wednesday, November 16, followed by the quarterfinals on Thursday, November 17, the semifinals on Friday, November 18, and concluding with the championship match on Saturday, November 19.
