EDISON, NJ (Nov. 14, 2022) – Five MAAC Women’s Basketball teams saw actions on Sunday November 13: Rider, Canisius, Siena, Mount St. Mary’s, and Manhattan. Rider gained its first win of the season with an overtime victory over St. Francis Brooklyn.

Rider defeated St. Francis Brooklyn 71-70 in overtime to earn its first win on the season. Rider had four players score in double figures in the contest. Makayla Firebaugh led the Broncs with 21 points, three assists and two rebounds. Jessika Schiffer added in 17 points, with Victoria Toomey and Raphaela scoring 12 and 11 points respectfully.

Canisius fell to Detroit Mercy in a road contest on Sunday 70-65. Canisius was led in the game by Dani Haskell and Vannessa Garrelts who both netted 18 points and four rebounds. Jane McCauley also added in 11 points in the contest.

Siena was defeated by crosstown rival Albany on Sunday 57-64. Teresa Seppala led Siena with 15 points and four rebounds. Anajah Brown and London Gamble each added in 11 points for Siena on the day.

 Manhattan was defeated by Duquesne 46-67 on the road. Pre-season MAAC Women’s Player of the Year Dee Dee Davis led all scorers on the day with 28 points, Davis also had 11 rebounds in the contest earning a double- double.
