EDISON, NJ (Nov. 14, 2022) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Volleyball Championship is set to begin this Wednesday on November 16, with two opening round games featuring Niagara, Rider, Manhattan, and Saint Peter’s. The first-round games will start on Wednesday, November 16. All games will air on ESPN Networks.
 
The first game of the day will take place between No.8 seeded Niagara and No. 9 seeded Saint Peter’s at 12pm on Wednesday, November 16. Niagara garnered the eighth seed by going 7-11 in conference play. Saint Peter’s comes in as the ninth seed after going 1-17 in conference play and getting the tiebreaker over Manhattan. The team that wins the opening round matchup will face top seeded Fairfield at 11am on Thursday in the Quarterfinals.

The second game of the opening round will feature No. 7 seeded Rider against No. 10 seeded Manhattan. Rider clinched the seventh seed in the tournament with a 7-11 record in conference and the head-to-head tiebreaker over Niagara. Manhattan comes into the Championship as the tenth seed, after going 1-17 in conference play. The winner of the Rider and Manhattan matchup will face  No. 2 seed Marist on Thursday in the Quarterfinal round.



The 2022 MAAC Volleyball Championship takes place from November 16 through 19 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The 10-team, single-elimination championship will feature four rounds of action with the opening round taking place on Wednesday, November 16, followed by the quarterfinals on Thursday, November 17, the semifinals on Friday, November 18, and concluding with the championship match on Saturday, November 19.
