The field is set for the 2022 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship Final

EDISON, NJ (Nov. 5, 2022) – The 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Soccer Championship final will take place Sunday, November 6, at noon, with top- seeded Quinnipiac University hosting No.3 seed Niagara University. The championship game will air live on ESPN Networks.

The top-seeded Quinnipiac University Bobcats (14-2-1, 9-1 MAAC) come into this final’s matchup undefeated at home. After taking home the regular season title, the Bobcats look to complete the season sweep and capture their first ever MAAC Tournament Championship. 
 
Quinnipiac enters the matchup led by the 2022 Women’s Golden Boot winner, and nations’ goal leader, Rebecca Cooke. Cooke’s goal from a second half penalty kick, propelled the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory over Canisius in the semifinal round.
 
The third- seeded Niagara University Purple Eagles (11-7-1, 6-3-1 MAAC) come into this final’s matchup fresh off an impressive 3-1 semifinal road win over No.2 Fairfield. The Purple Eagles, look to upset the top ranked Bobcats as they make their first MAAC Championship title appearance since 2009.
 
Niagara enters this game have scored a combined six goals over the first two rounds of the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship. Four different Purple Eagles have recorded goals thus far in playoff competition, providing for a balanced offensive attack.
 
The winner of this matchup will earn the distinction of being crowned the 2022 MAAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Champions and earn an automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer Tournament.
 
 
 
 
The 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 30 through November 6. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 3, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
