Niagara’s York and Saint Peter’s Piccinic Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

EDISON, NJ (Nov. 9, 2022) – Niagara’s Braden York and Saint Peter’s Shelby Piccinic have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Cross Country
 
Bradan York is a Cross Country student athlete at Niagara University. York, a junior Communications major, currently holds a 3.54 GPA. At the 2022 MAAC Cross Country Championships he set a new career best with a 25:50.3 in the 8k race, he became just the fourth Purple Eagle to break 26 minutes in an 8k race.

Women’s Cross Country
 
Shelby Piccinic led the way for the women's team in the MAAC Cross Country Championships with a stellar placement of 56th out of 123 runners. Piccinic, took almost an entire minute off her time from the Peacocks last race to the XC Championship, finishing with a time of 23:45.40. That time was good for a pace of 6:23.
