Edison, NJ (Dec. 14, 2022) – Rider’s Jerome Boyer and Niagara’s Sydney Sarkis have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Track & Field
Boyer ranks first in the MAAC in the 200 meters (21.98) and seconds in the 400 meters (48.31) following the Broncs' indoor-season-opening performance at the Rutgers Holiday Classic. Boyer is a five-time All-East honoree with a seventh-place finish in the 400 in the 2020-21 indoor season and four relay honors. He has also achieved in the classroom, having graduated from Rider with a degree in psychology with a 3.25 grade-point average. He's currently pursuing his Master's in Organizational Leadership.
Sydney Sarkis
Niagara
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Sydney Sarkis is a four-year member of the Niagara swimming and diving program and a three-time MAAC All-Academic honoree. This season she has continuously been one of Niagara's top divers, posting the conference's fourth-best score of 245.05 on the 1-meter board at the Magnus Cup last month. She also holds the league's sixth-best 3-meter performance, scoring a 229.13 in NU's home tri-meet with Youngstown State and Saint Francis. In the classroom, Sarkis is pursuing a degree in Psychology.
