Canisius’ Vannessa Garrelts claims Player of the Week honors for the first time this season after recording 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a 74-67 win over Rider to start conference play. Garrelts’ set a career high with her 22 points in the conference home opener on Saturday, December 17. On the season Garrelts holds averages of 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and leads Canisius in assists (35) and steals (16).
 
 
Rookie of the Week
Sisi Eleko, Canisius

Canisius freshman, Sisi Eleko, claims Rookie of the Week honors after recording 14 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Griffins in a 74-67 victory over Rider. Eleko set a new career high with her nine rebounds in the contest and helped lead Canisius to a 1-0 start in conference play.
