EDISON, NJ (Dec. 29, 2022) – Rider University was the lone Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s basketball team to take the floor on Wednesday, with the Broncs facing SEC foe Georgia in the final out of conference game for the league in 2022-23. The Broncs cut a double-digit deficit to two points late in the game, but came up just short of the upset, comeback win in Athens.

Rider men's basketball fell in its final non-conference game of the season, 78-72 at Georgia on Wednesday night inside of Stegeman Coliseum. The Broncs trailed by as many as 20 points in the second half, before cutting the deficit to one possession (74-72) with 1:01 to play. Tariq Ingraham led Rider with a season-high 15 points and seven rebounds. Mervin James, who attended high school in Georgia, scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in his return to the state, while Allen Betrand also scored in double-figures with his 12 points.
