Edison, NJ (Dec. 7, 2022) – Iona’s Daniss Jenkins and Quinnipiac’s Cur’Tiera Haywood have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Junior Daniss Jenkins starred in his MAAC debut, averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals in two conference wins at home over Canisius and Niagara.  Jenkins shot 61.5% from the field overall, connecting on 16-of-26 shot attempts.  He was a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and 5-for-6 from the line.  Perhaps most impressive, he had 14 assists to just one turnover in 63 minutes of play.  Jenkins his 14:1 assist-to-turnover ratio led all MAAC players this week, with No. 2 on the list coming in at 4:1.

Leading the Bobcats in scoring at 11.9 points per game, Cur'Tiera Haywood is off to a solid senior campaign for Quinnipiac. In the Bobcats' lone contest this past weekend, Haywood led the team in scoring with 12 points and added two steals and two blocks as well. Haywood played her best in the fourth quarter, scoring six of her 12 points in the frame to aid the Bobcats in a comeback victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon.
