EDISON, NJ (February 2, 2022) – Manhattan’s Alexandra Preckajlo and Quinnipiac’s Dezi Jones have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Alexandra Preckajlo has been named MAAC Field Performer of the Week three times during the 2021-22 indoor campaign. The Ocean, N.J. native holds the best mark in the conference in the shot put and weight throw. Preckajlo also set a new personal best in the weight throw earlier this season at the NYC Gotham Cup. This season, the graduate student has five wins across the shot put and weight throw. In the classroom, Preckajlo has been a MAAC All-Academic Team honoree and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honoree in 2021. She is currently pursuing her MBA.
 
Dezi Jones
Quinnipiac
Men’s Basketball

Dezi Jones recorded 27 points, nine assists and two rebounds this past week for the Bobcats. He tallied 13 points on January 28 against Marist, then scored another 14 points at Siena two days later. The point guard ranks third on the team in scoring (10.1 PPG) during his first year at Quinnipiac, also adding 2.8 APG and 2.4 RPG. He has 11 games of 10+ points this year. Jones scored a season-high 24 points against Niagara on January 9.
