Niagara defeated crosstown rival Canisius, 65-54, on the road Saturday afternoon. The Purple Eagles claimed a sweep in the annual Battle of the Bridge series with the win. Niagara’s trio of Sam Iorio (17), Marcus Hammond (13), and Noah Thomasson (10) led the way in the victory. Canisius was had two in double figures, with Jordan Henderson scoring a team-best 13 points and Malek Green adding 12 points.
 
The 2021-22 campaign culminates with the 2022 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships from March 8-12 at Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
