Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Saint Peter’s, and Siena Snag Wins on Sunday in MAAC Men’s Basketball

Canisius used a strong second-half to claim a 72-67 road win at Quinnipiac Sunday afternoon in MAAC men's basketball action. The Golden Griffins erased a 16-point halftime deficit en route to the win. Jordan Henderson scored 17 of his career-high 25 points after halftime to spearhead the Griffs, with Armon Harried adding 12 points and Jacco Fritz chipping in 11 points. Leading the Bobcats were Matt Balanc with 22 points, Jacob Rigoni added 15 points, and Dezi Jones recorded 10 points.
 
Fairfield (13-16, 7-11 MAAC) – 66 | Manhattan (14-13, 7-11 MAAC) – 62

Fairfield got past Manhattan, 66-62 on Sunday afternoon in a MAAC league game. TJ Long scored a team-best 14 points, Supreme Cook scored 13 points and Taj Benning scored 12 points for Fairfield. Leading three Jaspers in double figures were Ant Nelson with 20 points, Jose Perez scored 13 points and Marques Watson with 11 points.

Iona held off Rider, 67-61, in MAAC play inside of Alumni Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. The Gaels trio of Tyson Jolly (16), Dylan van Eyck (11) and Elijah Joiner (10) led the way with double-digit point efforts. The Broncs also had three in double figures, with Allen Powell’s game-high 19 points leading the way, while Dimencio Vaughn scored 13 and Dwight Murray scored 12.

Saint Peter's picked up a 63-36 home victory over Niagara on Sunday inside Run Baby Run Arena. The Peacocks allowed their lowest point total in a game since 2015 in the win. Daryl Banks III led Saint Peter’s with 13 points. Marcus Hammond scored a game-high 14 points to lead Niagara. With the win, Saint Peter’s secured a top-three seed in MAAC tournament field.

Siena defeated Monmouth 70-59 in front of a season-high crowd of 6,524 in its regular season finale at MVP Arena. The Saints locked up a top-three seed in the MAAC as a result of the win. Colby Rogers erupted for a game-high 26 points and the trio of Anthony Gaines, Nick Hopkins, and Jackson Stormo all scored 12 points apiece for the Saints. Walker Miller (14) and Shavar Reynolds (12) were Monmouth’s top scorers.
