EDISON, NJ (Feb. 9, 2022) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s lacrosse season officially begins this week, with six out of seven squads embarking on the 2022 ledger.
 
Picked second in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the Marist Red Foxes start things off for the conference today at 3pm, traveling to No. 12 Rutgers in Piscataway, New Jersey.
 
On Friday, Feb. 11, Manhattan opens its season at No. 2 Duke. The Jaspers and Blue Devils will face-off at 3pm in Durham, North Carolina.
 
Saturday features an almost full-slate of games, with five teams in action, four of which are starting their respective seasons.
 
The day begins with Siena in Brooklyn, New York at LIU for an 11am start. Then at noon, Canisius, Quinnipiac, and St. Bonaventure all begin their campaigns. The Golden Griffins will visit Hobart in Geneva, New York; the Bobcats travel to Lowell, Massachusetts for a date with UMass Lowell; the Bonnies journey to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to meet Saint Joseph’s.
 
Lastly, defending MAAC champions and preseason favorites, the Monmouth Hawks, begin their title defense on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1pm, trekking to nearby Princeton University.

The 2022 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship will take place on May 5 and 7. The four-team championship will be hosted by the highest seed with the semifinal round played on Thursday and the championship final played on Saturday.
