HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team is set to participate in the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). The Bobcats' opponent will be announced on Monday, March 14 by the WNIT, with the first round of action being played between March 16-18.
Earning a berth as an automatic qualifier, Quinnipiac is in the WNIT field for the fifth time in program history. Making appearances in 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016, it wasn't until Qunnipiac's last WNIT appearance where the Bobcats earned its first ever national postseason tournament victory in defeating Maine, 90-44, in the WNIT First Round at the People's United Center on March 18, 2016.
Quinnipiac heads into the postseason with a 20-11 record on the season and 14-5 in its last 19 games. With a 20-11 mark, head coach Tricia Fabbri notched her 11th consecutive winning season at the helm of the Bobcats and reached the 20-win plateau for the 11th time in her career as well.
