Iona’s Burkhamer and Fairfield’s Nethercott Earn Levy Recognition Golf Weekly Awards

Coming off an individual win last week, graduate student Justin Burkhaemr kept up his success at the Sacred Heart Spring Invite in Daytona FL. In the first round this weekend, he fired in at -2 under. Burkhamer finished the tournament at +1 and was inside the top five for his second straight week.
 
Women’s Player of the Week

In Fairfield’s first tournament of the spring campaign, sophomore Sydney Nethercott finished tied for 15th place out of a 62-golfer field at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational at LPGA International. Nethercott carded a 73 on the opening day of the tournament, the sixth-best score of the round, before shooting an 81 on day two, helping bump the Stags from seventh after day one to a sixth-place finish in the 14-team field.
