EDISON, NJ (March 16, 2022) – Rider’s Lani Moreno and Manhattan’s Gucwa have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Moreno was named First Team All-MAAC last season, joining teammate Elena Gonzalez in earning the honor. She hit a team-best .415 last season, good for second in the MAAC. Her 37 hits ranked seventh in the league, while her .574 slugging percentage ranked seventh and her .451 on-base percentage was eighth. Her nine doubles tied for most on the team and were seventh in the league. So far this season, she's hit .396 with six extra-base hits, including two home runs, to go along with 16 RBI's and eight runs scored as the Broncs have posted an 8-6 record. She's also achieved in the classroom with a 3.93 GPA as a cybersecurity major.

Gucwa paces the Manhattan offense with 20 points through six games in 2022. The junior has 15 goals and five assists on the season powered a pair of four-goal games to open the season at No. 2 Duke and versus VMI. The Pottstown, Pa. native also tallied five goals in an 11-6 win over Wagner. Gucwa leads the team with 15 goals and shares the team lead in assists. Gucwa was named to the all-academic team last season and Second Team All-MAAC and All-Championship Team.
