Siena’s Soures, Monmouth’s Orban, and Iona’s Varada Named TicketSmarter Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Award

Women’s Offensive Player of the Week:
Mary Soures, Siena
Sr., Rochester, NY, Webster Thomas
 
Soures tallied 11 points on 10 goals and one assist over the week against nationally-ranked #22 UMass and La Salle. She scored five goals in each game.
 
Women’s Defensive Player of the Week:
Cassidy Orban, Monmouth
Gr., Long Valley, NJ, West Morris Central
 
Orban compiled four points, six ground balls, four caused turnovers and 15 draw controls in a 1-1 week for Monmouth. She opened the week with an assist to pair with three ground balls and a caused turnover in a 12-10 win over Harvard. Orban then logged three ground balls with a career-high nine draw controls and a career-best three caused turnovers in a road game at Stetson. She also recorded her second hat trick of the season opposite the Hatters with three goals on four shots.
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week:
Kira Varada, Iona
Fr., Montrose, NY, Hendrick Hudson
 
Varada led the Gaels to two wins this week and kept the seven game winning streak alive. She scored nine goals, five in a win at Columbia and four in a win over UNH. She also added five ground balls, eight draw controls.
