EDISON, NJ (Mar. 24, 2022) – Monmouth University was selected as the unanimous preseason favorites in both the Men's and Women's MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches’ Polls, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Monmouth has won seven straight outdoor track & field championships on both the men’s and women’s sides since joining the league dating back to 2014. The Hawks men's team swept the poll with a total of 64 points and all eight first-place votes, while the women’s team received a total of 100 points with all 10 first place votes in their respective poll. The two Monmouth squads also took home team titles at the 2022 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships back in February.
On the men’s side, Rider University was tabbed second behind the Hawks, receiving 55 points, while Iona College rounded out the top three with 47 votes. Manhattan College (39) was voted in fourth place and in fifth place was Saint Peter’s University (31). Marist College (23) Siena College (20) and Canisius College (9) closed out the men’s preseason poll.
On the women's side, Rider was selected second behind the Hawks earning 87 points, while Quinnipiac University was in third picking up 83 total points to close the top three. Iona (67) was picked fourth and Manhattan (61) was picked in fifth place to round out the top five. Siena (44), Saint Peter's (35), Marist (32), Niagara University (23) and Canisius (18) rounded out the women’s poll.

The 2022 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8, hosted by Rider University at Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex in Lawrenceville, NJ. This will mark the 22
nd time that the MAAC Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted at Rider, more than any other location.
