LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (April 22, 2022) – The 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships teed off this morning from Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.
On the men’s side, Iona College jumped out to an early lead after Round One, shooting one-under par for a total team score of 287. Gonzalo Arcelay and Justin Burkhamer lead the Gaels at two-under individually. Niagara University’s Lincoln Cizek is tied with Burkhamer and Arcelay atop the men’s individual leaderboard as they shot a 70 for the day.
The University at Albany leads on the women’s side at 295 and seven-over par. The women’s individual leader is UAlbany’s Claudia Blöchliger who shot a 69 (-3) in round one. Tied for second are Quinnipiac University’s Leeyen Peralta and Kaylee Sakoda at 71 (-1) on the day.
