Iona used a brilliant pitching performance from winning pitcher Kara Zazzaro who allowed three base runners all game. Kayla Haywood drove in two runs for the Gaels and scored the third on Brianna Bailey’s opposite field single in the sixth inning. Iona will take on top-seeded Canisius tomorrow morning at 11 am.

- The lone hit that Zazzaro allowed was to the leadoff batter Haley Updegraff to lead off the game.
- The Gaels are the first six seed to win its first two games at the MAAC Championship since Fairfield did so in 2017. The Stags went on to win the tournament that season.
- This is the first time that Iona has defeated Fairfield in MAAC postseason play since 2014.
Fairfield Notes and Notables
- Fairfield pitcher Katie Kudlacik threw a complete game, striking out six and scattered six hits.
- The Stags played a clean game defensively, making no errors in the field.
- The loss set up an elimination game meeting with No. 3 Siena later in the afternoon.

Canisius used a four-run first inning to propel them to a 5-2 victory over Marist. 2022 MAAC Pitcher of the Year Megan Giese scattered 10 hits in her seven innings of work. She worked her way out of multiple jams to put the Griffs in the win column. Destiny Falquez delivered the first strike of the game, driving in Christie McGee-Ross, followed by RBI hits from Lindsi Dennis and Sophia Recrosio. Marist fought back to plate two, but the Griffs ultimately held on. Canisius will take on sixth-seeded Iona tomorrow morning.

- This is the 10th time in program history Canisius has reached 30 wins in a season and the first since 2010.
- Megan Giese tossed her 15th complete game of the season.
Marist Notes and Notables
- Marist outhit Canisius, 10-5
- After Canisius’ strong first inning, pitcher Calista Phippen settled back and allowed just one unearned run.
- Meghan Davis went 3-3 and drove in both Marist runs.
- Carolina Baratta and Hailee Jantorno each had two hits apiece.
- Marist will on Siena at 1:30 pm tomorrow afternoon.

Siena won their second-straight elimination game to advance to the Championship Semifinals for the second time in program history and first time since 2015. Jocelyn Ulrich and Shannon Bonewit each tallied three hits. Nicole Patille earned the win in relief and Ava Fitzmaurice earned the save, striking out two batters in the seventh.

- Nicole Patille threw 3.2 innings in relief, striking out three and scattering five hits to pick up the win.
- Ulrich went 3-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
- Bonewit went 3-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

- Fairfield finishes the season going 25-22 overall and 15-5 in MAAC play.
- Kaitlin Hoffman and Megan Forbes each tallied two hits apiece.
- Forbes and shortstop Madison Robicheau scored the Stags’ two runs.
- Lauryn Rhinehart went 5.1 innings in the start.
