In a true pitcher’s duel between the two All-MAAC First Team pitchers Megan Giese and Kara Zazzaro, Jamie Sheeran’s seventh inning home run broke the deadlock tie to take the lead for the Gaels. In the bottom half of the seventh, Canisius fought back and strung together a single by Sophia Recrosio and walks fromShealyn Ollison and Saige Alfaro to load the bases for 2022 MAAC Player of the Year Erin Hufford. Hufford beat out a single to shortstop, scoring Recrosio to set the stage for Christie McGee-Ross. McGee-Ross drove Zazzaro’s 1-2 offering through the left side to walk-it off and send Canisius to the 2022 MAAC Softball Championship Final.

- Canisius advances to their second consecutive MAAC Championship final.
- The Griffs improved to 6-4 all-time against Iona in the MAAC Softball Championship tournament.
- The victory extended Canisius' win streak to a season-best 11-straight games.
- Hufford and McGee-Ross were the only players to record multi-hit performances.
- Giese allowed just three hits in her seven innings of work for her 16th complete game of the season.

- Kara Zazzaro went 6.2 innings, struck out seven, scattered seven hits and allowed just two runs.

Siena’s Ava Fitzmaurice tossed a three-hit complete game en route to the Saints’ third-straight win in an elimination game. Fitzmaurice allowed one unearned run, striking out one to claim the victory for the Saints. Marist scored in the first inning, but the Saints responded with a run in the second and two in the fourth.

- Isabella Pardo tied the program record for hits in a season with 66 hits.
- First time in program history that Siena has won three games in the MAAC Championship.
- Jocelyn Ulrich had the lone multi-hit performance for Siena with two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
Marist Notes and Notables
- Marist finished the season going 25-30 and 11-9 in MAAC play.
- Miah McDonald went 2-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.
- Kiley Myers went six strong innings and allowed two earned runs.

Both Siena and Iona got out of the gates strong offensively as Iona led 4-3 after the first inning. However, once Adriana Romano entered the game, the Gaels would not score again. Romano struck out 10 in 6.2 innings and scattered five hits. Siena would tack on four more runs in the second inning to claim their fourth consecutive victory in an elimination game.

- Advance to the MAAC Championship Final for the first time in program history.
- Mikala Fletcher went 3-4 with two runs and two RBI.
- Shannon Bonewit went 2-3 with 3 RBI and a run scored.
- Emma McLaughlin went 2-3 with two RBI and Isabella Pardo went 2-4 with two runs.
- Pardo’s single in the bottom of the first was the 67th of the season, the most in a season in program history.
Iona Notes and Notables
- Iona finished the season going 22-26 and 10-10 in MAAC play.
- Maddy Lowry was strong in relief, going 3.2 innings and allowing only one hit.
- Kaylin Flukey went 3-3 with two RBI.
- Kayla Haywood went 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored.
- Chilcott, Taylor and Sheeran scored the other three runs.
