Three-Time All-American: Dobson Picked To USILA All-America Squad

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – For the third time this month, St. Bonaventure graduate Brett Dobson has been named an All-American.

This time, Dobson captured All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). He was one of three goalies nationwide named to the USILA All-America Teams, taking Third Team honors.

Owen McElroy of Georgetown was named to the First Team while Colin Kirst of Rutgers is on the Second Team.

Dobson, previously named Second Team All-America by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse, is the nation's leader in save percentage (.665) and stands second in saves per game (16.8) and fifth in goals against average (8.95).

The 2022 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year powered an 11-4 season for the Bonnies as they were the conference regular season champions and reached the MAAC Championship Game. He earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades a whopping seven times this year and turned away 17 or more shots 10 times including 20 or more saves four times. He wrapped his career by setting a new school record for single-game saves with 27 in the MAAC semifinals.

His 569 career saves will stand top-10 in MAAC history while he finished his four-year collegiate career with an overall save percentage of .601. Bona's first recruit as a Division I program, he led the nation in save percentage in each of the past two years and became the first Bonnies player drafted in the Premier Lacrosse League.

Dobson will begin his professional career this summer with the Archers Lacrosse Club after being selected 12th overall and the top goalie picked in this month's PLL Draft. Dobson was also selected to represent his native Canada as one of 12 players on the roster for Team Canada at The World Games 2022, under the new Sixes lacrosse discipline. The 6 v 6 tournament will be held in Birmingham, Ala. from July 7-17.
