PROVIDENCE, RI (May 27, 2022) – A trio of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s lacrosse players have been named to the 2022 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I/II North/South Senior All-Star Game, sponsored by Dynamic.
The three MAAC representatives participating in the Division I/II game on the North squad include Manhattan College’s duo of Sean MacKinney and Jake Nicolosi, and Siena College’s Nick Pepe.
MacKinney was third on the Jaspers in points in 2022 with 37. The Martinsville, NJ, native was named First Team All-MAAC for the second straight season in 2022. MacKinney scored in the Jaspers' win over St. Bonaventure in the MAAC Championship. The senior closed the season with 13 goals over his final four games of the regular season, including five against Monmouth in the regular-season finale.
Nicolosi was named First Team All-MAAC after scoring 34 points (21 goals, 13 assists) for Manhattan. The West Islip, NY native, scored in the MAAC Championship for the Jaspers and provided an assist in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Vermont. Nicolosi tallied four hat tricks in 2022.
A two-time team captain, Pepe was the recipient of the 2021-22 Siena Athletics Male Comeback Player of the Year Award after persevering to earn Second Team All-MAAC honors this spring following an injury-plagued 2021 season. The short-stick defensive midfielder started all 15 games this season, scoring eight goals and adding 18 groundballs while leading the Saints to a MAAC Tournament berth. Overall, Pepe appeared in 45 games (20 starts) in his Siena career, tallying 30 points on the strength of 21 goals and nine assists.
The North/South Game, which features the top Division I and II seniors in the country, was first played in 1940 and has been played annually since 1946. The all-star game is set for Friday, May 27 at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College. The Division I/II game will commence at 7:30 p.m., steaming live on
