Rider Men's Golf Draws NCAA Norman Regional

Broncs to compete May 15-19

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's golf team will travel to the Norman Regional, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, the NCAA today announced on its annual selection show. The Broncs earned an automatic berth by virtue of its first-ever MAAC Championship this past April 24.

An individual participant at the Kingston Springs Regional by virtue of his McLeod Trophy win as MAAC Individual Champion last season, graduate student Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) will make his second-straight regional appearance. Devereux shot three-under 69 on Championship Sunday at the MAAC Championships this year to earn his second-straight McLeod Trophy.

Freshman Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) became All-MAAC with a second-place finish at MAAC Championships, shooting two-under 214 for the tournament, a stroke behind Devereux. For the season, he's posted a 75.05 stroke average, behind Devereux (72.54) and Rick van der Nat (Noordwjik, The Netherlands/Visser' t Hooft) (74.48).

Jack Urban (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) earned MAAC Golfer of the Week on Apr. 20 and has a 75.76 stroke average for the season, while 2021 All-MAAC honoree Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) (76.95 stroke average in 2022) rounds out the Broncs' projected line-up.
