LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ (May 8, 2022) Monmouth University clinched its eighth straight MAAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship at the Michael P. Brady Track and Field Complex on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks led throughout the meet, capping off their title run with a team score of 250.

The Hawks received their initial gold medal of the day when Veronica Chainov earned a first-place finish in the high jump event. Chainov placed first with a mark of 1.63 meters. Monmouth’s 4x800 relay team featuring Sydney Todd, Keellyn Cummings, Katie Locker, and Ashley Navarro also won gold with a 9:02.95 finish, with a 9.29 second buffer between them and the second place finisher.
Rider took home the most golds on Sunday, collecting eight total. The Broncs took first, second, and third in triple jump with Stephens, Maddox, and Butler finishing in the top three spots. The 2022 MAAC Track Most Outstanding Performer, Teagan Schein-Becker earned two first place finishes as well as a relay win. Schein-Becker claimed first in the 1500 meter and 800 meter races. To cap off the team’s eight gold medals was the 4x400 relay team of Hailey Palmer, Dyani Bigelow, Teagan Schein-Becker, and Alenys Morales.
