Three MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Standouts Chosen for IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

EDISON, NJ (June 1, 2022) – A trio of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women’s lacrosse senior standouts, were selected to compete in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2022 Division I Senior All-Star game, announced by the IWLCA today.
 
The three MAAC representatives chosen for the DI South Team include Kelly Horning of Fairfield University, Grace Lipponer of Manhattan College, and Nicole McNeely of Siena College.
 
An All-MAAC First Team choice, Horning led Fairfield to its fourth consecutive MAAC title this season, guiding the Stags to a conference all-time best of seven championships. She was named to the MAAC All-Championship Team, while also earning tournament MVP honors. Horning finished 2022 as the MAAC leader in total ground balls and caused turnovers. She was second in the conference in caused turnovers per game and fifth in ground balls average. Additionally, she earned IWLCA Division I Northeast Region Second Team honors last month.
 
Lipponer, a First Team All-MAAC choice, paced the conference with 97 points and 63 goals this season and was the only player in the MAAC to average above 5.0 points per outing in 2022. She set new Manhattan single-season records for goals, assists, and points during the season. Lipponer was also top-5 in both assists and assists per game. Moreover, she helped the Jaspers collect their first MAAC Tournament win since 2005 against Niagara in the opening round and claimed a spot on the 2022 MAAC All-Championship Team.
 
Siena’s first ever MAAC Offensive Player of the Year recipient, McNeely led the league in ground balls per game and was second in points, points per game, assists, and assists average. She ranked sixth in total goals, draw controls per game, and free position percentage. McNeely broke Siena's career records for goals, assists, and points following 2022, while also becoming the first player in program history to reach 200 career points. In addition to her All-MAAC First Team nod, she also earned a spot on the 2022 MAAC All-Championship Team.
 
The Senior All-Star game will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The Division I game will start at 12:45 p.m. with admission free of charge.
