EDISON, NJ (June 9, 2022) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) had three softball student-athletes named to the 2022 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Softball All-ECAC Team, the organization announced Thursday morning.

Marist sophomore third baseman Miah McDonald was named to the All-ECAC Team after hitting .379 this season with 61 hits in 52 games. The Camp Hill, PA native blasted seven home runs, drove in 47 RBI, scored 37 runs, and was successful on 24 of her 25 stolen base attempts.
Joining McDonald on the All-ECAC Team is Rider pitcher and second baseman Jessie Niegocki. Niegocki hit .359 this season with 66 hits in 54 games. The Marana, AZ native hit six doubles, drove in 16 RBI and scored 34 runs. On the mound, she went 7-6 with a 2.09 ERA in 100.1 innings. She allowed just 76 hits and struck out 127 batters.
Marist graduate shortstop Caroline Baratta was an All-ECAC Team honorable mention this year. Baratta hit .287 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI. The Gladstone, NJ native recorded 50 hits, 40 runs and was successful on 12 of her 13 stolen base attempts. Baratta earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022 after recording just seven errors in 180 chances.
McDonald, Niegocki, and Baratta were all named to the 2022 All-MAAC Softball First Team.
