EDISON, NJ (Aug. 31, 2022) – The 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s and women’s cross country season begins this weekend with nine programs in action. A pair of teams get their season underway on Friday, Sep. 2, while seven other squads begin their 2022 campaigns on Saturday, Sep. 3.
MAAC newcomer, Mount St. Mary’s, kicks the 2022 slate off on Friday at home in Emmitsburg, MD hosting the Mount 5k Duals. Also competing on Friday will be Rider, which travels to Bethlehem, PA for the Lehigh Invitational.
Saturday is headlined by Marist hosting the Marist Season Opener at Vassar Farm in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Red Foxes will play host to a trio of MAAC teams at the meet, including MAAC preseason Favorite, Iona, preseason runner up, Siena, and Manhattan. Quinnipiac begins its season in Stony Brook, NY, running in the Stony Brook Season Opener. Opening weekend wraps up with the MAAC Western New York schools, Canisius and Niagara, both competing at the annual Little Three Championships in Olean, NY, hosted by St. Bonaventure.

The 2022 MAAC Men's & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at The Crossings of Colonie course in Loudonville, New York on Saturday, October 29. The one-day event will be hosted by Siena College. This will be the second time Siena serves as host of the cross country championships at The Crossings of Colonie, having previously hosted the tournament in 2018.
