Ginevra Giovagnoni, Quinnipiac

Giovagnoni made an instant impact for the Bobcats in the first two collegiate matches of her career. She combined to tally a team-best 31 kills, 15 digs two service aces and a block in Quinnipiac's opening matches against Stony Brook and Fordham. Giovagnoni then recorded nine kills, eight digs and two service aces in the Bobcats' opener at Stony Brook. She followed that performance with a team-high 22 kills with a blistering .409 attack-percentage and seven digs against Fordham.
Libero of the Week
Hope Matschner, Iona
Jr., Winter Springs, FL, Winter Springs High School
Matschner led the Gaels to a 3-0 weekend in the Iona tournament. Taking home MVP honors, Matschner totaled 89 digs, currently ranking her best in the country. In Iona's win over Providence, the junior recorded a career-high 40 digs which is tops in a four-set match this season. Matschner's 40 digs were also the most in a match from a Gaels since 2015. Matschner also tallied 9 assists and a kill in the three matches
Rookie of the Week
Ella Bourque, Canisius
Fr., Yorkville, IL, Yorkville High School
In her first three NCAA matches, Bourque made an instant impact on the court for the Griffs playing all 13 sets and starting all three matches. On the offensive side of the ball, she had six kills, 18 attack attempts, and 114 assists (including 53 against Western Illinois, 11 off the Canisius record). She had 35 assists against Purdue Fort Wayne and 23 in her inaugural NCAA match against Lindenwood, finishing with an average of 8.77 assists per set. Her 8.77 assists per set are higher than the entire team totals for Saint Peter's and Rider and rank her second in the conference overall in assists per set. Bourque also picked up two service aces, both against Lindenwood. On the defensive side, Bourque had 34 digs for an average of 2.42 per set and five block.
The 2022 MAAC Volleyball Championship takes place from November 16 through 19 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The 10-team, single-elimination championship will feature four rounds of action with the opening round taking place on Wednesday, November 16, followed by the quarterfinals on Thursday, November 17, the semifinals on Friday, November 18, and concluding with the championship match on Saturday, November 19.
