Men’s Runner of the Week

The Iona University men's cross country team earned a first-place team finish at the 27th Annual Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park, and Josh DeSouza led four Gaels among the top six in the victory. DeSouza finished the Michael Byrne Men's Championship 8k event as the second-place individual finisher with his time of 24:59.2. 

Women’s Runner of the Week
Courtney Kitchen, Fairfield
Sr., West Chester, PA, B. Reed Henderson High School
 
For the second weekend in a row, Courtney Kitchen led the way for Fairfield University women's cross country, earning a sixth-place finish in the 67-runner field at the John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions hosted by Iona. Kitchen crossed the line in 18:52.2, less than ten seconds off the fifth-place finisher, capturing her best finish as a Stag in the process.
 
The 2022 MAAC Men's & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at The Crossings of Colonie course in Loudonville, New York on Saturday, October 29. The one-day event will be hosted by Siena College. This will be the second time Siena serves as host of the cross country championships at The Crossings of Colonie, having previously hosted the tournament in 2018.
