Ella Loussia, Canisius
Sr., West Bloomfield, MI, Mercy High School
Ella Loussia had another impressive weekend, nabbing 33 kills, 17 digs, and three service aces. Against Niagara, she led a 10-0 run, including nine straight serves to give the Griffs a double-digit lead. She averaged 4.71 kills per set and 2.43 digs per set. Nationally, she ranks in the Top 20 for service aces per set and tops the MAAC in service aces per set.
Libero of the Week
Bree Long, Canisius
Sr., Temperance, MI, Bedford High School
Bree Long totaled 43 digs over the weekend, including 23 at home against Niagara during the team's 2-0 weekend. She averaged 6.14 digs per set with 1.71 assists per set. Long also served 28 times with a perfect 11-for-11 serving percentage at home against Niagara. This marks Long’s second Libero of the Week honor of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Ella Bourque, Canisius
Fr., Yorkville, IL, Yorkville High School
Ella Bourque continued her impressive season with the weekend series against Niagara. Bourque had 76 assists, including 45 on the road Saturday against Niagara, along with a perfect 14-for-14 serving day. She averaged a career-best 10.86 assists per set with 3.29 digs per set over the weekend. Bourque also chipped in eight kills with four in each match and totaled 28 attack attempts in the first match. The honor marks Bourque's fourth Rookie of the Week selection this season.
The 2022 MAAC Volleyball Championship takes place from November 16 through 19 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The 10-team, single-elimination championship will feature four rounds of action with the opening round taking place on Wednesday, November 16, followed by the quarterfinals on Thursday, November 17, the semifinals on Friday, November 18, and concluding with the championship match on Saturday, November 19.
