Quinnipiac’s Williams and Rider’s Schiffer Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Edison, NJ (Jan. 18, 2023) – Quinnipiac’s Tyrese Williams and Rider’s Jessika Schiffer have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Williams has averaged 8.1 points per game off the bench this season for Quinnipiac, helping lead the Bobcats to 5-straight wins in MAAC play. He’s made 14 3-pointers over the last five games. The graduate guard recently surpassed 1,000 career points for Quinnipiac on Dec. 22 at Penn State. Williams becomes the 44th player in Quinnipiac program history to reach 1,000 career points. He's the 18th player to reach the mark at the Division I level.

Jessika Schiffer continues to be one of the top shooters in the MAAC during her senior season, ranking second in the MAAC with 36 made three pointers and sitting third in the conference, shooting 37.9% from behind the arc. She has made a three in all but one game this season, including a 5-for-9 performance leading to 17 points in a conference win over Saint Peter's. Just as good in the classroom, Schiffer has maintained a 3.947 GPA during her time at Rider.
