Edison, NJ (Jan. 4, 2023) – Manhattan’s Joe Brennan and Fairfield’s Callie Cavanaugh have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Swimming & Diving
Joe Brennan is a sophomore on the men’s swimming & diving team at Manhattan. Brennan broke his own school records in the 50- and 100-yeard breaststroke at the ECAC Winter Championships in December. Brennan swam the 50-yard breast in 25.58 and the 100-yard in 55.82. Brennan's previous record in the 50 was 25.84, and 56.11 in the 100. The accounting major ended last academic year with a GPA over 3.7.

Women’s Basketball
Callie Cavanaugh enters this week just nine points of her 1,000th career tally. The MAAC's leading scorer has notched four games of 20 or more points including a career-high 36 points in the season opener against Brown. Cavanaugh enters her fourth season with the Stags and has already completed her master’s degree in Communications.
