Camil Azzam Ruiz helped lead Iona to a pair of victories this week, registering three goals and two assists. He recorded a five-point effort in Iona’s 5-3 win on the road at Rider on Wednesday. Azzam Ruiz tallied two goals in the opening 11 minutes and added an assist in the 68th minute. Wednesday night was the graduate student’s third multi-goal game in 2023. He pushed his goal-scoring streak to six games on Saturday with a 23rd minute penalty kick goal and tacked on an assist in the 72nd minute in Iona’s 4-0 victory over Saint Peter’s.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jamie Barry, Niagara

Jamie Barry recorded a total of 12 saves over two MAAC matches this week. He had 2 shutouts against Saint Peter's and Manhattan. Barry made a crucial save in the 82nd minute against Saint Peter's to keep Niagara's 1-0 lead and secure the victory.

Rookie of the Week
Ben Biton, Siena
Fr., Munich, Germany/ Fachoberschule München

Recorded what proved to be the game-winning goal in Siena's 3-1 win over Canisius on Wednesday, which marked his second straight game with a goal.

The 2023 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship will take place from November 5-12. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, November 5, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 9, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 12.
