De Villard took first prize in each race he competed in versus the University of Rochester. He led the way for the team, collecting first place finish in the 200 backstroke, and setting a pool record at the Speegle Wilbraham Center with a time of 1:52.50. This ranks as the third best 200 back time in the MAAC this season. He also took first in the 200 free (1:43.13), 500 free (4:55.16), and won the 200 free relay with a 21.60 split.
Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week:
Lucas Racevicius, Rider
Gr., Watertown, CT,
Holy Cross High School
Racevicius won three individual events as Rider topped Lehigh in a tight dual meet. He won the 100-back with a time of 50.54, the fastest in the MAAC this season. He then won the 200-back in 1:53.68, fifth fastest in the MAAC this year. He finished the day winning the 200-IM in 1:58.34, seventh best time in the MAAC this season.
Men’s Diver of the Week:
Stavros Xantheas, Rider
Fr., West Orange, NJ, West Orange
Xantheas swept the diving events in Rider's dual win over Lehigh. He scored 251.40 on the 1-meter and 262.28 on the 3-meter.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week:
Rory Kalac, Siena
Gr., Huntersville, NC, Clements
Swam to individual wins in the 50 free (24.38) and the 100 free (53.48) while anchoring Siena's winning 200 medley relay (23.95 50 free) and 200 free relay (23.73) teams in the Saints' tri-meet wins over Canisius and Rochester.
Women’s Diver of the Week:
Talia Spenziero, Siena
Sr., Clifton Park, NY, Shenendehowa
Won the one-meter diving (237.06) and placed third in the three-meter diving (216.06) events during Siena's tri-meet wins over Canisius and Rochester.
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 14-17, 2024 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
