Rider’s Racevicius Brothers, Fairfield’s Sandsjoe, and Siena’s Spenziero Claim MAAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week:
Lucas Racevicius, Rider

Lucas Racevicius posted the fastest 50-free, 100-free, and 100-back times in the MAAC this season at the Bruno Invitational. The graduate student swam 20.28 in the 50-free, 45.21 in the 100-free, and 48.22 in the 100-back. He also swam the prelims of the 100-fly, swimming 49.76, the fourth-fastest time in the conference this season. Racevicius was also a member of the 400-free relay team that swam 3:04.04, the fastest time in the MAAC this season, the 200-medley relay team that swam 1:29.40, the fastest time in the MAAC this season, and the 400-medley relay team that swam 3:19.58, the fastest time in the MAAC this season.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week:
Marcas Racevicius, Rider

Marcas Racevicius scored 228.10 on the 1-meter and 273.80 on the 3-meter at the Bruno Invitational.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week:
Tone Sandsjoe, Fairfield
Fr., Visby, Sweden, Filburnaskolan
 
Tone Sandsjoe secured one individual MAAC record and was part of a MAAC record-setting relay team as the Stags competed in the Terrier Invitational over the weekend. She took first place in the 100 breaststroke at the Terrier Invitational, setting a school record, a MAAC record, and collected an NCAA B Cut time by completing the race in 1:01.45. She was part of the MAAC record-setting time in the 400 medley relay (3:45.49) which placed fourth in the Invitational. Sandsjoe also earned a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.40. She also competed in the 200 IM (2:10.70), the 200 medley relay, and the 400 free relay. The Terrier Invitational included Boston University, Bryant, Northeastern, and UMass.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week:
Talia Spenziero, Siena
Sr., Clifton Park, NY, Shenendehowa
 
Spenziero finished second in three-meter diving (262.65) and third in one-meter diving (258.25) in the Saints' meet at Stony Brook, surpassing 250 points in both events for the second straight week.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 14-17, 2024 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The 2024 championships will be the first time the meet is held at SPIRE Institute.
