Canisius senior Siem Uijtendaal averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last week as the Golden Griffins went 1-1 against Robert Morris and Pittsburgh. In the win over Robert Morris Dec. 6, Uijtendaal scored a season-high 24 points and pulled down five boards, and then he followed that with a team-high 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in the Griffs' road loss at Pitt. For the week, Uijtendaal, who averaged 38.7 minutes per game, shot 60.0 percent (15-for-25) from the floor, 40.0 percent (4-for-10) from 3-point land and he went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Rookie of the Week
Josh Pascarelli, Marist
Fr., Cambria Heights, NY, St. Francis Prep
Josh Pascarelli scored a career-high 26 points and hauled in a career-high seven rebounds as Marist earned a 63-53 road win at Dartmouth in its only game of the week on Saturday. Pascarelli shot 10-for-18 from the field and 6-for-12 from three-point range. He added two assists and a blocked shot. With Marist clinging to a three-point lead in the final minutes, Pascarelli scored on three consecutive possessions as the Red Foxes boosted their lead to nine. He poured in eight points in a span of 1:08.
